Steak Tacos

A quick, flavourful taco recipe using thinly sliced steak, fresh toppings, and tortillas.

Ingredients:

  • 1 lb skirt steak or flank steak, thinly sliced
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon cumin
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon paprika
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 8 small tortillas (corn or flour)
  • Toppings: diced onions, chopped cilantro, lime wedges, salsa, avocado (optional)

Instructions:

  1. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the sliced steak and season with chili powder, cumin, garlic powder, paprika, salt, and pepper.
  2. Cook the steak for 4-5 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the meat is browned and cooked through.
  3. While the steak cooks, warm the tortillas in a dry skillet or microwave.
  4. Assemble the tacos by placing the cooked steak in the centre of each tortilla, and then adding your favourite toppings such as diced onions, cilantro, lime wedges, salsa, and avocado.
  5. Serve immediately and enjoy!
